The movies kids really want to stream these holidays

The best choice of family-friendly films is on Foxtel these school holidays.

RELENTLESSLY cheerful, wild-haired creatures that sing and dance to the lyrics of positivity. Adorable toy pals rescue their friend from a selfish toy collector. A reformed supervillain meets his despicable twin. A struggling koala who concocts a singing competition as a last-ditch attempt to save his dilapidated theatre.

Kids movies are often silly, fun and sometimes downright weird.

What delights and fuels the imaginations of kids can leave mums and dads silently bamboozled. To help parents out, we’ve recruited a crew of pint-sized critics to review the films they love to watch with mum and dad. Because sometimes it’s necessary to see the world through kids’ eyes.

The AFLW’s second season has kicked off – and there’s plenty to like about what’s in store for Round 3. 2017 premiers the Adelaide Crows will take on the rampaging Western Bulldogs after a disappointing start to the season saw them lose their first match and see co-captain Erin Phillips sidelined with a thigh strain.

The former basketball star, regarded as one of the best players in the young competition and claimed every individual award on offer in the previous season, has left a huge hole in the Crows’ midfield as the 2018 season’s ladder scatters.

The seven-round season will wrap up on March 18 and will provide fans with the perfect warm-up to the 2018 men’s fixture. Don’t miss it.

What happens during the movie? When Poppy was a baby, King Peppy was saving his Trolls from the evil Bergens because they were wanting to eat them. Later when Poppy was grown up, some Bergens captured some Trolls. Poppy tries to save them. Poppy did lots of singing and dancing. Poppy got sad and turned grey. Branch sung to her and helped her. Poppy and the Trolls showed the Bergens you have happiness inside, and sometimes you need your friends to help you find it.

The traditional season opener between the Tigers and the Blues is always a blockbuster event, but this year’s match will take on extra significance for the yellow and black faithful. Richmond are unfurling their 2017 premiership flag before the match, and the sound that will reverberate around the MCG will only be matched by the roar when the final siren went last September. On field, after their successful smash and grab job last year, Richmond are about to find out what it’s like to be the hunted, and Brendon Bolton’s Blues will be extra keen to knock their old rivals down a notch. The Tigers will be hoping their manic pressure game style will be up to the task. The biggest competition in the land begins again.
