CRONULLA faces a nervous wait after losing skipper Paul Gallen and Andrew Fifita to knee injury during Friday's local derby.
The sharks are hopeful. The gall is not too serious when he went down and broke his knee in the first half. He relaxed the pitch and did not return.
The gall fell in an awkward tackle when he tried to get a kick away.
Initial treatment showed that the 36-year-old had suffered a medial ligament strain, which is at the lower end of knee lesions.
The Cronulla veteran is in the 18th century of his NRL career. He went through a full year without missing a Cronulla game in 2017 for the first time since 2005.
He has already shown back and foot complaints this season but lacks another game for the sharks.
But FIFITA's injury is thought to be more serious with initial reports indicating that he has suffered an ACL injury.
It was only worse when the game went on to the shire club. They also lost Wade Graham (hamstring) and Luke Lewis (cork).
All four players will be sent for scans.
