A flame in a waste dump in Melbourne's west is under control hours after knocking out next to a major highway.
The fire started at Knox Transfer Station in Wantirna South, from the EastLink highway, at 14:00 on Friday. A spokesman for a spokeswoman describes it as "quite a big incident".
Crews bought the flame under control shortly after. 16.30, and CFA said EastLink traffic flowed normally.
