US President Donald Trump has attacked former FBI director James Comey as a "weak and outrageous mourning bullet" responding to news accounts that mentions Comey as wounded criticism of the president in a memoir to be published next week.
"It was my great honor to lame James Comey!" Trump said in a row of angry twitter messages on Friday, adding that he had been a terrible FBI director.
Trump fired Comey in May last year and has publicly criticized him since then, but not to this extent.
Comey had investigated allegations that Russia merged in the presidential elections in 2016 and possible talks between the Russians and the Trump campaign. His firing led to the Ministry of Justice, which appointed Special Counsel Robert Mueller to take over the study in Russia.
Trump has denied any cooperation, but Russia's probe has been an open sore for his presidency.
"James Comey is a proof LEAKER & LIAR," said Trump. He also accused Comey of lying to Congress, apparently referring to Comey's Senate Testimony in June of June, when he said he needed to account for his talks with the public in the public domain, hoping for that it could appoint a special council. 19659003] Comey told reporters that he had given copies of his memo memorializing his conversations with Trump to people outside the Ministry of Justice and asked a friend to share the content with a journalist.
The former FBI director makes a series of media interviews before the release of his book, a higher loyalty: truth, lies and leadership, which news organizations have said, paints a deeply flattering image of the president.
Interviews are Comey's first public comments since he testified to the Senate Intelligence Committee in June when he accused Trump of shooting him undermining the FBI's investigation in Russia.
In an interview sent on Friday at ABC's good morning America, Comey discus sed his first meetings last year with the new president. He described Trump as fleeting, defensive and worried more about how his own picture than claimed Russian interference in the presidential election.
Comey said he warned Trump against ordering a study of a violent intelligence dossier about a 2013 meeting with prostitutes in Moscow.
In the book, Comey wrote that Trump traveled intelligently with him at least four times during meetings after Trump joined January, according to Washington Post, who received a copy.
Dossieret was drafted by former British intelligence officer Christopher Steele about Trumps ties to Russia and included allegations of involved prostitutes.
Trump denied the allegations and said that he might want the FBI to investigate allegations in the case to prove they were not true, Comey said to ABC.
"I said to him," Lord, it's up to you, but you'll be careful because it can create a story that we are inverting tigating you personally and, secondly, it's very hard to prove That did not happen, "said Comey.
Asked how bizarre that meeting with Trump was, Comey said," Very strange. Really weird. It was almost a body experience for me. I fled over myself and looked down and said, "You sit here and inform US incoming president of prostitutes in Moscow." "
In January 2017, US intelligence executives informed Trump and his advisors about Russia's election mix. 19659003] What hit him most, Comey told ABC, was that the conversation moved directly into a PR mode, what they could say and how they would place Trump.
