KURIOUS neighbors will have to wait a little longer to discover the fate of a 1960s modernist house in Hamlyn Heights.

More buyers are negotiating to buy 14 Kirriemuir St after a $ 550,000 seller bid on auction on Saturday.

Paul Bell, Geelong agent Renay McIntyre, said developers, builders and renovation workers were among those who had previously shown interest in the two-storey house of 815 sqm land.

Price expectations had been $ 590,000 – $ 640,000 before the auction.

Nearby residents showed up in strong numbers on Saturday, keen to find out who would snap up the property.

Auctioneer Paul Bell invited the crowds into the loungeroom to avoid an upcoming downpour, but it was not offered and he managed.

Both living and two bedrooms on the house have large floor to ceiling windows to capture views of Corio Bay.

"It counts a lot of boxes," Ms. Said Mcintyre "It's a nice neighborhood."

The medieval prices in Hamlyn Heights have jumped 20.5%. For $ 500,000 in the past 12 months, CoreLogic shows shapes.
