AN EXCLUSIVE riverfront property in Ocean Grove has sold twice after the first buyers backed out of a deal.

The property at 21 Peers Cres was listed for sale in August last year with an expressions of interest campaign.

RT Edgar, Ocean Grove agent John Brodie said after the campaign finished the house sold privately.

“The original contract did not proceed and we had to go back on the market and then it sold again within a month,” Mr Brodie said.

He said he did not know why the contract was withdrawn but the vendors were thrilled it sold again.

The two-storey house on 918sq m of land sold for $1.45 million the second time, according to CoreLogic.

Mr Brodie said the successful buyers were from Melbourne and would be using it as part holiday rental and part holiday home.

“It is in a great spot and it is an original 1970s house that is very liveable, it is quite unusual as the up and downstairs are mirror image of each other,” he said.

Both levels contain bedrooms, bathrooms, a laundry, kitchen, meals area and loungeroom.

The property has been owned by the same family since it was built in 1974.
