Four people have been arrested, and a factory that packed forged children's milk, which was mainly destined for China, was dismantled in an northeastern city of Spain.
Three of the four people arrested on Saturday were Polish nationals and eight tons of forged product were discovered, according to the Girona police.
The suspects claimed to have adapted the product to the country, which would be sent by offering the milk in different formats and branding.
Factory's main market was China, according to the police.
Police said that the product, bought in bulk in Poland for one euro per. Kilo and delivered to Barcelona was not harmful, but lacked the nutrients needed by infants.
It was also made in an environment that did not comply with food health and safety standards.
The action began thanks to a warning from Europol after the Polish authorities had disassembled a similar factory in Poland without arresting.
