Four men have been accused of an armed robbery of a Newcastle tavern after a police hunt and dog hunt.
A 29-year-old worker at the Maryland tavern was allegedly threatened by a group of men armed with weapons at 10.30 on Wednesday, escaping with a sum of money in a black Holden Commodore, police said.
It is further alleged that a police car operation ended in Warners Bay with a police dog unit tracking the group after escaped.
The men aged 24, 25, 26 and 30 were arrested, two of whom were taken to the John Hunter Hospital with injuries sustained during the arrest.
All four have been accused of armed robbery and denied bail to appear before the Newcastle Local Court on Thursday.
