There has been a dramatic arrest in Melbourne's CBD today after a man allegedly had made racist threats and claimed to have a gun on a tram.
Spectators feared for their lives and called the police after hearing a shout of abuse and
Crossing of Collins and Elizabeth's streets was closed as the police pounced.
The heavy-handed police stopped 109 trams at. 12.45 and arrested the man with arms drawn.

The police searched for the man but did not find a weapon.
The man who was in the mid 30's is expected to undergo mental health control.
