substance, space and style in Unley Park

[ad_1]

GROVE St, Unley Park has been home to John and his wife for more than 20 years, but now it's time to cut down for something a bit smaller, allowing for an impressive maintenance masterpiece in a sought after

The couple constructed 1a Grove St home in 2010 and took advantage of the opportunity to create an open-plan family entertainer with a strong focus on quality and comfort.

"We've lived on Grove St for more than 20 years and at the time we bought this, we lived about 100m up the street," says John.

"This property came up and we bought it in 2009, figured out what was here and built something we have loved.

" We were very fortunate to find a block of this size and we were put opposite Heywood Park. It's like having the largest farm in Adelaide. It was designed with Medallion home and we were looking for something that was a wonderful blend of modern and traditional design that came together to create, in my opinion, a completely timeless design.

"We also looked for a nice open home and one who did not want it had plenty of rooms so it flows really well and it's great for entertaining. You can have the whole family in it and feel like you are together, but still each with your own room. We have had family gatherings, birthdays, Christmases and Easters here. It has been good.

"We went with Medallion, especially because the finishes are just amazing, they use the finest materials and The results are just incredible. "

The home has three bedrooms and is on three levels.

Two of the bedrooms are set on the ground floor and both have walk-in clothes that lead to a luxurious family bathroom with whirlpool, shower, double vanity and a toilet.

The third bedroom on the upper level has a large retreat and an ensuite and has been used as a guest suite, says John.

"We have had friends and family there from time to time so that is a very versatile design, "he says.

On the back of the lower level is a large open plan, fully equipped I kitchen and a dining and living area that opens onto a covered terrace overlooking an established landscaped garden.

Underneath the home is John's favorite room – the basement.

"Wine making is a hobby of me and I'm a bit of a wine bucket, I wanted a special place to enjoy this so it's the size of a large bedroom, Bordex has racking for 2500 bottles and many more options to put more if you want to, "he says. "The basement will be very hard to say goodbye to –
Many homes have basements, but usually they are a hole in the ground, but one is made to spec and I think it really is the heart of the place."

The home has solid oak sildben parquet flooring, a secure garage, a covered carport, a channeled vacuum system, a security system with video intercom and irrigated gardens.

When pairing now cuts, John says they will be looking for something less nearby as they love their area.

"We do not really need the kind of space we have – we have had our share and we now give another opportunity to enjoy the street and the room."
